Iconic Bluebottles Cafe recently underwent a rebrand in 2019 by owners Renee and Dan. After struggling with an outdated website for a couple of years, Renee and Dan commissioned a new build with Outspoken Entourage.
It needed to have a clean, contemporary design to match the cafe's rebrand, completed by us in 2019. Easy and quick access to the various pages was required along with easy access to their location map, contact details, downloadable menus and careers section for the transient hospitality industry.
The site, when launched, ticks all of the boxes but also includes future functionality built in such a way for a CMS menu system to allow individual menu options to be added by the client in future, including name, ingredients, dietary information, price and an overall description of the dish/beverage.
A healthy proportion of the budget was dedicated to ensuring the SEO on the site was second to none. An SEO Technical Score increase of approximately 50% was achieved over the previous site. Within the first month, the website is currently sitting in the top one or two positions on Google depending on the search term being entered which is an incredible result.
Whilst shooting video isn't a standard service offered by OE, the hero video on this site was shot by Content Creator Connor who also edited the clip to a size which gave a great overview of the food, setting and bustling cafe but also retained a very good speed rating essential for SEO.
With hundreds of items in Bluebottle's retail store, a simple, easy to use e-commerce solution was required. For full flexibility, we customised a Shopify site to enable the client to quickly make changes to their products, pricing and inventory on a moment's notice. This is linked through the Shop button on the site and uses a proven e-commerce solution for full scalability and control over the products.
The careers page has a built in application form for potential applicants including some questions with a twist! This really sets the tone for new applicants and gives them an insight into what working with the team will be like on a day to day basis.
Bluebottles have an amazing catalogue of images including the cafe's setting, chefs in action and of course, the food! A photographer was commissioned to shoot, edit and supply the images on a shot list we created to best capture the style and feel of this iconic establishment. These were built into a gallery which when each image is clicked, opens into an amazing light box setting allowing users to scroll through the library.
Overall we think we delivered a clean, contemporary site which has future functionality planned into the initial build. We hope Renee and Dan are as impressed as we are and we look forward to future development and evolution of the site.
