The Design Cupboard is an interior design and visual storytelling business that wanted a strong yet minimalist logo and brand. This was a project that made us a little nervous! When a graphic designer is working with an interior designer, it can either be a match made in heaven…. Or hell! Luckily, it was a perfect fit, and we were given creative freedom to put together their slick logo.
As one half of The Design Cupboard team is an interior designer and the other a talented photographer/videographer, they were very specific on what they were after when it came to their logo and brand. Specifically, they were looking for a monochromatic logo, and a logomark of a cupboard to symbolise their service offering. The design needed to be simple yet speak to the high end of the market for both videography & photography as well as interior design and commercial fit outs.
Mark spent much time finding the perfect cupboard to represent the brand. Whilst you might think this would be an easy task, it is not! After trawling through countless options, he settled on the cupboard that he believed would bring the logo to life. The cupboard was traced from a photograph and then legs were added, in a mid-century modern style. A pop of abstract colour was incorporated as a branding element, to bring some further interest on marketing collateral such as business cards, booklets and flyers.
Overall, the design process itself was smooth and the client was extremely happy with the outcome and final product. The Design Cupboard continue to bring big city ideas to the Coffs Coast area and beyond and we are proud to have been their first choice for their logo and branding project.
