Coffs Law Co were looking to stand out from the ‘same old’ law firm websites, which tended to be boring, uninspiring and somewhat clinical. The brief we received from the client was to create a legal website that showed a lot of the owner’s personality. They loved comic books and the style within those comic books, such as Judge Dredd and SuicideSquad. At the time of the website build, their legal premises were located in a laneway surrounded by very striking graffiti and pop art, which also became part of the design.
This site required a much higher level of customisation and animation that had been done on prior sites.For example, the Harley Quinn inspired character on the home page was created from scratch and the animation of the bubble-gum bursting when the mouse is rolled over it. The menu at the bottom of the page hides a cartoon strip underneath each menu item, which is only seen when the specific menu item is selected. And the contact page, each method of contact had an animated rollover as well as a fun red button at the bottom of the page – just because! As there are many legal firms located in Coffs Harbour and surrounds, it was important to have very good search engine optimisation on the site, to ensure the website ranked as high as possible on Google search as well as higher than other legal companies. We spent time working on the SEO and we’re pleased to say that when searching for law firms or lawyers in Coffs Harbour, the site ranks on page 1, which is a great win!
This site was a lot of fun to work on, with its completely unique look and feel. It’s also a site that has achieved what the client wanted it to do – stand out from other legal practices, show personality and be found easily on search in a highly competitive industry.
